Our half breed is built out of quality materials. The canvas is cut and sewed out of #4 untreated canvas and measures a full 24 inches by 44 inches with 1 inch padding. The leather is cut from latigo leather. The canvas trim is made out of soft pliable chap leather. The side board pockets are double stitched. The trim of the half breed is stitched and glued. Side Boards are cut out of Red Oak. Trailhead Supply uses Red Oak because it is a hard wood. Using a hard wood decreases the chance of chipping the boards. This helps eliminate tearing and snagging of manties and panniers. Each side board is given three coats of polyurethane which gives them a great appearance after years of hard work and inclimate weather. Standard size is 1" x 3 1/2" x 22".
