I Just Don't Understand

Last weekend all of us from Trailhead Supply headed over to the Mile City Bucking Horse Sale as vendors. We loaded my camping trailer with our products and headed east, twelve hours east.  After unloading and setting up our booth, I pulled the empty trailer over by a big tree it was flat and quit, a nice place to call home for the next 5 days.  The next morning, I poured a big hot cup of coffee. I sat there watching the sunrise and enjoying the start to a new day.  Then all of a sudden, a loud rumble started…the folks next to us came out of their RV pulled the rope and fired off a generator…What the???  Then one by one as everyone in the fairgrounds woke up they all fired up a generator, why?? It sounded like I was sitting in the middle of a weed eater cutting competition.  I don’t get it, I didn’t need power, what on earth was everyone doing?  Why was everyone ruining my peaceful morning? They ran all day, every day …  WHY??  The fridge is propane, the stove is propane, the lights are 12 volt, you should be able to run them for several days before that battery needs charged. And it sure wasn’t warm enough to turn the AC on.   This is why I pack, I saddle the horses and load up the mules and leave all these power loving crazy folks behind.  What really got me is when my generator loving neighbors rolled out the astro turf over real grass to set the lawn chairs on then they sat there and tried to talk over the roar of the generator. They were not even in the trailer using the electricity they were making.   I just don’t get it. Oh well, maybe I’m just getting old and enjoy coffee in quiet and solitude, until next time.

See you on the trail.

Andy

You mean you don’t pack in a generator on your excursions into The Bob? Lol.

I really “like” the part about the AstroTurf.
